Get your free estimateAmerican Standard Mini-Split Installation: The Marietta Owner’s Guide
American Standard mini-split installation in Marietta typically runs $3,500 to $7,500 for a complete single-zone system, depending on capacity, line-set length, and whether your home needs electrical upgrades. We stock American Standard-compatible components on our trucks and can usually complete a standard single-zone install in one day. Most owners call us after their existing system has failed outright or is leaking refrigerant faster than it can be recharged, and they’re tired of nursing it along.

You’ll hear the compressor short-cycling, feel warm air blowing from a unit set to cool, or notice ice forming on the line set outside. Sometimes the indoor unit drips water onto the floor because the condensate pump has quit. Whatever the symptom, you want to know three things: what failed, what it costs to replace, and whether the new system will actually hold up through a Marietta summer. We’ll answer all three.
Which American Standard Models This Applies To
We install and service the full American Standard ductless lineup, including the Platinum, Gold, and Silver series. That covers single-zone and multi-zone configurations from 9,000 BTU up to 36,000 BTU per indoor head. The model number on your outdoor unit tells us everything: on American Standard equipment, you’re looking for a data plate on the side of the condenser. The first several characters identify the series and capacity. If the plate is faded or painted over, we measure the line-set diameter and match the system by BTU rating.
One compatibility gotcha worth knowing: American Standard mini-splits use proprietary communication between the indoor and outdoor boards. A generic aftermarket board may physically fit the housing but will not talk to the rest of the system. For control boards, thermistors, and inverter components, we use OEM American Standard parts. For line sets, condensate pumps, and mounting hardware, quality aftermarket equivalents work fine and save you real money. We’ll tell you which is which before you spend a dollar.
Brandt HVAC Co Marietta is an independent service provider. We are not affiliated with American Standard, but we install and repair their equipment every week, and we know which parts fail first in Georgia heat and humidity.

Signs Your American Standard Mini-Split Installation Is Failing
- Warm air on cooling mode with the compressor running. This usually means low refrigerant from a slow leak in the flare fittings or coil. The system can’t move heat, so it moves air and pretends.
- Ice on the outdoor line set or the indoor coil. A starving evaporator coil freezes up. It’s almost always low charge or restricted airflow from a clogged blower wheel.
- Water dripping from the indoor head. The condensate drain line is clogged or the pump has failed. In Marietta’s humidity, a working mini-split pulls gallons of water out of the air daily. When that water has nowhere to go, it goes on your floor.
- The system short-cycles. The compressor kicks on, runs three minutes, shuts off, and repeats. This is often a failing inverter board or an overheating compressor. Left alone, it kills the compressor entirely.
- Error codes flashing on the indoor display. American Standard units use letter-number codes that point to specific sensor or board failures. We read them on arrival, but if you can tell us the code over the phone, we’ll bring the right part on the first trip.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
A complete American Standard mini-split installation in Marietta runs $3,500 to $7,500, installed. Single-zone 9,000 to 12,000 BTU systems land at the lower end. Multi-zone systems with two or three indoor heads, or installs that need a new electrical circuit, land higher. If you’re replacing a failed outdoor unit only, you might spend $1,800 to $3,200 depending on capacity, but we’ll be honest with you: if the outdoor unit is old enough to fail, the indoor head isn’t far behind, and mismatched components cause communication errors that drive you crazy later.
Every quote is a written, fixed price before any work starts. That price includes the equipment, line set, electrical connection, condensate drainage, refrigerant charge, startup testing, and haul-away of the old unit if you want it gone. Our installation work is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise: if something isn’t right within a year, we return and make it right at no charge. No fine print, no argument.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check three things yourself. First, make sure the outdoor unit has clearance: leaves, mulch, and pollen pile up against the coil and choke it. Second, check the indoor filters. Third, confirm the breaker isn’t tripped. That’s the end of the safe do-it-yourself list.
Mini-split installation involves high-voltage electrical work, pressurized refrigerant, and flare fittings that leak if they’re not torqued exactly right. A bad flare means slow refrigerant loss and a dead compressor in two seasons. The refrigerant itself is dangerous to handle without training and proper recovery equipment, and it is illegal to vent it. If you are replacing an existing system, the old refrigerant has to be recovered, not cut loose. This is not a weekend project. Call (478) 662-5175 and we’ll handle it properly.
FAQs
With proper installation and annual maintenance, expect 12 to 15 years in Marietta’s climate. Georgia humidity and pollen push systems harder than drier regions, and neglected coils and filters shorten that lifespan to 8 or 10 years. The single biggest factor is installation quality: tight flares, correct charge, and a clean electrical connection. Call (478) 662-5175 for a free estimate on a replacement that’s installed right the first time.
Yes, if the failure is a bad thermistor, capacitor, fan motor, or control board. If the compressor has failed or the coil is leaking, replacement is usually the cheaper long-term answer. We’ll tell you plainly which situation you’re in, and the diagnostic is part of the visit. Call (478) 662-5175 and we’ll walk you through it.
A standard single-zone install in Marietta takes 4 to 8 hours, including electrical work, line-set routing, evacuation, and startup testing. Multi-zone systems may take a full day or slightly longer. We’ll give you a set install date and a written price before we start, and our technicians arrive by name and photo so you know exactly who’s at your door.
Yes. Our trucks carry common American Standard control boards, thermistors, fan motors, capacitors, and line-set components. If your system needs a part we don’t have on board, typical supplier lead time in Marietta is 1 to 3 business days. We also stock parts for Carrier, Trane, and Lennox systems. Call (478) 662-5175 with your model number and we’ll tell you if we have the part before you schedule.
Tell me what it’s doing, and I’ll tell you what it needs – no guesswork, no upsell.
